Backpack Music Festival

“No Child Should be without the Basics to Succeed.”

The History of the Backpack Music Festival

Serendipity Collage and Potpourri (SCP) Backpacking for Success Program,
a 501(c3), was founded in 2005. SCP Michigan is committed to assisting students in need by providing them with backpacks, school supplies, personal hygiene kits and essential items to help ensure that “No child is without the basics to succeed.

SCP hosts several fundraising events to help provide backpacks and supplies for K-8 Grade students. We have adopted several Detroit Public Schools like Bennett, Sherrill and Blackwell Elementary along with COTS-Women & Children Shelter plus others.

SCP Backpack Music Festival is an annual fundraiser featuring Detroit's youth talent (Kids Got Talent Stage), Electronic, House, Techno, Funk and Hip Hop DJs, musical and visual live performances and is a highly anticipated part of Detroit's summer festival scene.  SCP helps over 1000 kids annually have a successful school year.
